A Set of Instructions to Tackle Yet Again
After submitting my synthesis on email last April 30, I checked on my inbox almost everyday to see if there's something that we need to accomplish. For almost two weeks, I did not receive anything of substance in my mailbox except for those spam mails from Facebook informing me of this and that --- nothing worth worrying about.
I knew it was because of the reason that Dr. Josel considered the fact that almost everyone in the class are to be involved in the 2010 national elections one way or another --- and it was true. Voters and Election officers alike we are directly involved in it and the fact that it was going to be the first automated elections, well, it caused quite a stir.
But so much so for the elections and everything related with it. Let me head back to the new set of instructions I read on my mailbox early morning of May 11. I got a screen shot, had it cropped using Photoscape (a very user-friendly photo-editing software). Here's the set of instructions for us to dissect (am making it sound like a frog lying helpless on the lab table).
Now, everything is stated clearly. But what is my progress so far?
I haven't done no.1. Why? because I opted to start doing no. 2. I started doing my electronic portfolio. The free encyclopedia (Wikipedia) states that one form of an electronic portfolio is the "BLOG" and since it's one I am very much familiar with, I chose it. If you are now looking at my work (my blog page, I mean) and would like to ask who made the design, I'd say it's me. I tampered with some HTML codes to widen the blog frame a little bit. I edited and designed my header picture using Adobe Photoshop CS ( also the picture at the sidebar). I also modified the version of the SSC logo I used for my Human Resource Management presentation so that the person visiting the site would know this is to comply with subject requirements of the graduate school of Siquijor State College Well, for some it might appear quite a bit overdressed, but for the lady of the house (I mean me!), it's simply an extension of my personality. And to answer those questions that you wouldn't dare ask me (because you're afraid I'd bite), yes, I have a penchant for overdecorating (if there ever is such a word).
I wanted to publish all pictures I took since the sessions started until the last meeting we had, but I cringed at the idea of a page filled with nothing but photos. And so I sought the aid of Photoshop again, cropped, copied, pasted, edited to satisfy my weird taste and so that's why you see a collage of sorts somewhere in the blogs. I plan to compile all pictures together and create a video using Windows Movie Maker but the plan has to wait for some later time when the sessions are about to end so I can put in everything --- it will also serve as a memento of what we did this summer.
How about number 3? I haven't written ... but I've already printed a few pages --- entries describing the first few meetings (scanned copies of those are found somewhere in the blogs as well) I don't even know if I will do the writing employing the good old fashioned pen because I plan to just copy and paste my blog entries on MSWord, print the converted Power Point pages and bind them together.
But well, I don't know if Dr. Josel will be amenable to this --- keeping a blog as an electronic portfolio I mean --- for she might say that she would much prefer for multimedia content to be compiled on a CD. But if that's the case, it would still be alright as I plan to go on using this blog site to record my learning experiences, frustrations and insights while I pursue this Masters degree.
Meanwhile, I am going off to Farmville to visit my cows and horses and chickens ---- they could have starved to death. Won't anyone wish to come visit my farm?
