CORRELATION BETWEEN EMOTIONS AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE (Introduction)

“Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield upon which your reason and judgment wage war against your passions and your appetite.   Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.” This is a quote by the famous poet Kahlil Gibran.   The quote suggests that people are driven by different motives.   Every action is compelled into completion through the presence of external and internal stimuli which are most commonly referred to as extrinsic and intrinsic motivations, respectively.             Emotions fall into the intrinsic category of motivations.   Though not tangible and most often not easy to measure, it can not be denied that emotions play a vital role in the lives of humans.
